Friendswood Mustangs Visit South Houston
The Friendswood Mustangs take their undefeated start on the road Friday night for a District 11-5A Division I matchup against the South Houston Trojans.
Friendswood enters the game 4-0 overall and 2-0 in district play after an impressive opening stretch that has included victories over Texas City, Clear Brook, Victoria East and Fort Bend Dulles.
Friday's game gives Mustang fans another opportunity to see whether Friendswood can continue that early-season momentum as the district schedule begins to take shape.
Clear Brook Takes on Clear Falls
Clear Brook also hits the field Friday night as the Wolverines travel to Challenger Columbia Stadium for a district matchup against Clear Falls.
Both teams enter the weekend looking for an important district win. Clear Brook comes into Friday's game 1-3, while Clear Falls is also 1-3.
The matchup offers Friendswood-area football fans another nearby Friday night option, with one of the Bay Area's premier high school football facilities hosting the game.
Bet on the Library at the 2026 Friendswood Library Gala
Saturday night brings one of the weekend's biggest community events as the Friends of the Friendswood Public Library host the 2026 Friendswood Library Gala.
This year's theme is Bet on the Library, combining casino-style games with the look and feel of old Hollywood. Organizers are encouraging guests to dress for the occasion, whether that means a tuxedo or gown, Hollywood glamour or a favorite celebrity-inspired look.
Admission includes access to the event, food, drinks, live entertainment and an opportunity to participate in the evening's prize drawing.
Proceeds from the gala will support the purchase of a new library marquee as well as the Gale High School scholarship program.
Good to Know: The Library Is Closed Friday and Saturday
The Friendswood Public Library is closed September 25 and September 26 while preparations are completed for the gala. Regular patrons should plan accordingly and use the library's available digital resources during the closure.
Spend Sunday at the Bay Area Farmers Market
After two busy nights, Sunday offers something a little more relaxed.
The Bay Area Farmers Market returns to the Baybrook Mall parking lot from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The year-round Sunday market brings together Texas farmers, ranchers, food producers, artisans and small businesses.
Depending on the week's vendor lineup, shoppers can typically find locally grown produce, eggs, meats, Gulf seafood, baked goods, coffee, prepared foods, pantry products, handmade goods and other locally produced items.
The market is held in the Baybrook Mall parking lot near Sleep Number and Fidelity Investments and operates rain or shine.
