Friendswood Stays Perfect at 5-0 as Mustangs Roll Past South Houston
The Mustangs continued their dominant start with a 52-14 win Friday night, while Clear Brook fell 52-21 to Clear Falls.
The Friendswood Mustangs are still perfect.
Friendswood continued its dominant start to the 2026 season Friday night, defeating South Houston 52-14 and improving to 5-0 overall.
The victory gives the Mustangs another convincing win in a season that has quickly gathered momentum. Friendswood entered Friday night having already defeated Texas City, Clear Brook, Victoria East and Fort Bend Dulles.
Mustangs Continue Impressive Start
Friendswood entered Friday's district matchup against South Houston with a 4-0 record and had surrendered only 24 points all season.
South Houston managed 14 Friday night, but it wasn't nearly enough to slow a Friendswood offense that has consistently produced big numbers.
- Friendswood 31, Texas City 6
- Friendswood 71, Clear Brook 11
- Friendswood 60, Victoria East 7
- Friendswood 80, Fort Bend Dulles 0
- Friendswood 52, South Houston 14
Friendswood has now scored at least 50 points in four consecutive games.
Perhaps more notable has been the combination of offense and defense. Through five games, the Mustangs have scored 294 points while allowing just 38.
That works out to nearly 59 points scored per game while allowing fewer than eight.
The schedule becomes increasingly important from here as district positioning begins to take shape.
Clear Brook Falls to Clear Falls
Across the area, Clear Brook had a more difficult Friday night.
Clear Falls defeated the Wolverines 52-21 at Challenger Columbia Stadium.
Clear Falls took control early and carried a 31-7 advantage into halftime before finishing the night with the 31-point victory.
The loss drops Clear Brook to 1-4 on the season and extends a difficult stretch for the Wolverines after opening the year with a victory.
Two Different Directions After Friday Night
For Friendswood, the first month of the season could hardly have gone better.
Five games. Five wins. Four straight games scoring more than 50 points.
The Mustangs will now try to carry that momentum into October as the district schedule continues.
For Clear Brook, the challenge will be finding a way to reset as the Wolverines move deeper into district play.
Talk of Friendswood will continue following both programs throughout the season, with game previews, weekend schedules and Saturday morning results as the local high school football season moves forward.
