The Friendswood Mustangs left little doubt Friday night.

Friendswood defeated Dulles 80–0 in one of the most decisive results of Week 4 of the Texas high school football season, according to Friday night's reported Houston-area scores.

An 80-point night is eye-catching on its own. Holding the opponent scoreless at the same time makes the result a statement on both sides of the football.

For Friendswood, the lopsided win provides another early-season boost as the Mustangs move deeper into the 2026 schedule and toward the games that will ultimately define their season.

A Big Friday for the Mustangs

Friendswood's 80-point performance stood out even on a Friday filled with high-scoring games around the Houston area. Other notable results included Dickinson defeating Clear Lake 72–0, Shadow Creek beating Brazoswood 61–0 and Pearland defeating Dawson 48–14.

But for the Friendswood community, Friday belonged to the Mustangs.

A shutout of this magnitude requires contributions beyond the offense. Keeping an opponent off the scoreboard for an entire game reflects the work of the defense and special teams as well as an offense capable of consistently turning possessions into points.

Mustang sports are having a strong weekend. Friendswood volleyball also swept Angleton 3–0 Friday, extending its winning streak to four matches and improving to 24–6 on the season.

Volleyball Keeps Rolling, Too

The football team wasn't the only Friendswood squad celebrating Friday.

Friendswood volleyball defeated Angleton in straight sets, 3–0, for its fourth consecutive victory. The Mustangs have now won 11 of their last 12 home matches and carry a 24–6 record.

The volleyball team is scheduled to return to action Tuesday against Iowa Colony in another district matchup.

A Strong Weekend for Friendswood Athletics

Friday's results provided Friendswood fans with plenty to celebrate heading into the weekend: an 80-point football victory, a defensive shutout and another sweep by a volleyball team that continues to pile up wins.

Talk of Friendswood will continue following Mustang football, volleyball and other local teams throughout the fall season.
