A Saturday gathering for collectors leads this weekend’s Friendswood calendar, with a school reminder for Monday and student theater coming up next week. Here are the dates to keep handy.
Saturday, September 19: The Wood Card Show
The Wood Card Show is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Friendswood Family Life Center, 202 E. Heritage Drive. Admission and parking are free, according to event sponsor Slabs & Signatures.
The sponsor describes an indoor show with 65 vendor tables featuring sports cards, Pokémon, comics, memorabilia and other collectibles. Its listing also includes hourly giveaways and food trucks.

Monday, September 21: No classes for FISD students
Friendswood ISD students have a holiday Monday, September 21, while staff participate in a professional learning day. Students return Tuesday, September 22, according to the district’s calendar reminder.
FISD families planning the weekend should include Monday in their childcare and activity arrangements.
Looking ahead: Alice in Wonderland opens next week
Friendswood Junior High Mustang Theatre will present Alice in Wonderland at the Friendswood Junior High Auditorium. The district has announced three performances:
