Report Your Concerns
Have a question, concern or issue involving Friendswood? Tell us what you think deserves a closer look.
FRIENDSWOOD — A strong community depends on residents who pay attention to what is happening around them and are willing to speak up when something deserves attention.
Sometimes that means celebrating the people, organizations and projects making Friendswood better. Other times, it means asking tough questions, holding elected officials and city employees accountable, identifying problems and bringing attention to issues that may otherwise go unresolved.
Talk of Friendswood wants to hear from you.
If you have a concern involving the City of Friendswood, a neighborhood issue, public infrastructure, city services, development, public safety, drainage, roads, parks, municipal projects or another matter affecting the community, we encourage you to reach out.
- City services or requests that remain unresolved
- Road, sidewalk, drainage or infrastructure problems
- Development or construction concerns
- Public safety or neighborhood issues
- Parks, public facilities or city property
- Questions about municipal projects, decisions or spending
- Other issues you believe deserve public attention
Maybe you have already reported an issue and have not received an answer. Perhaps a problem has continued longer than expected. You may have questions about a city decision, project or expenditure and simply do not know where to begin looking for answers.
Whatever the situation, send it to us. You do not need to have every answer before contacting Talk of Friendswood.
What Happens When You Contact Us?
Submitting a concern does not automatically mean it will become a published story. Our first goal is to understand the issue.
When appropriate, Talk of Friendswood may review publicly available records, meeting documents, city agendas, contracts, reports and other relevant information. We may also contact appropriate officials, organizations or other involved parties to request additional information or provide an opportunity to respond.
Some concerns may lead to an article. Others may help identify a larger issue affecting multiple residents. In other cases, the information may simply help us point a resident toward a public document, department or resource that answers the question.
Documentation Helps
If you contact us about an issue, gather as much information as you reasonably can.
Helpful information can include photographs, emails, letters, dates, locations, public documents, previous correspondence or a brief timeline explaining what happened.
You do not have to conduct your own investigation before reaching out. If something does not seem right, you have been unable to get an answer, or you believe an issue deserves greater public attention, tell us what you know.
Someone from our team will reach out to collect supporting documents, images, emails, etc. to aid in investigative reporting.
Community Information Starts With the Community
Talk of Friendswood cannot be everywhere. Residents often see problems, changes and developments long before they become widely known.
Community members are an important source of information about what is happening throughout Friendswood.
Our purpose is not to manufacture controversy. It is to ask questions, document what can be established, provide relevant context and give Friendswood residents useful information about their community.
If something deserves a closer look, we want to know about it.
